The judge has provisionally suspended the ban on organising the summer camp in Bernedo
A judge, on a provisional basis and as a precautionary measure, has lifted the ban on the organization of leisure activities by the Sarrea Euskal Udalekua association. This has been reported in a statement by the organizers of the Basque Udalekus, who have stressed that, to this day, Sarea can legally organize leisure activities and summer camps.
However, they have pointed out that this year there will be no summer camp activity in Bernedo (Álava), since the organizers have decided to continue with the alternatives prepared after the entry into force of the ban.
The administrative sanction imposed on the association Sarrea Euskal Udalekua became firm on 4 June, when the Member of Parliament for Culture of the Provincial Council of Álava, Ana del Val, reported that the Council had prohibited Sarea from organising the colonies of Bernedo, as well as the cultural association Dorrekoa, a member of the network of Basque colonies, accused of "attempted fraud".
Sarea has been fined €9,000 and disqualified for three years. According to the Council, in the last two years he had not submitted a mandatory notification of summer camp activities.
