A memorial has been inaugurated to remember the inhabitants of the villages of the Gamboa Valley that were flooded to build the dam in the 1950s, with the presence of the General Representative of Álava, Ramiro González. As a result of the reservoir, several towns of the municipalities of Gamboa, Barrundia and Arrazua-Ubarrundia were flooded.
