Changes in traffic in Bilbao next Monday due to Itzulia Basque Country 2026
Next Monday, April 6, Bilbao will host the Itzulia Basque Country 2026. The 65th edition of the tour will begin with an individual clock of 13.9 kilometers, starting in the parking lot of the Basilica of Begoña and ending in the park of Etxebarria .
Bilbo – 1st stage
Schedule: 12: 00 to 19:00
Departure: The parking lot of the Basilica of Egoña (12:30 – 16:00)
Destination: Commerce Park
The celebration of the first stage will leadto the closure of streets, restrictions on parking and changes in pedestrian and cycling mobility in almost all districts, especially in Artxanda, Deusto, Uribarri, Begoña and Casco Viejo, so the City Council recommends avoiding private vehicles and using public transport, preferably by train, metro or tram.

Public transport:
- Bilbobus and Bizkaibus will change their usual routes and stations and place information on marquees, information panels, mobile apps and official social networks.
- Citizens can consult specific information through 010, on the official traffic channels of the Basque Government, on the web trafikoa.euskadi.eus and on the account of the social network X @TrafikoaEJGV.
The Basque Government coordinates the security and assistance system with 300 Ertzaintza officers and municipal police.
The Itzulia Basque Country 2026 will continue until 11 Aprilwith stages that will cross the Basque Country and part of Navarre, where new traffic restrictions and punctual closures on different roads and highways are envisaged, depending on the times of each stage.
