A detainee in Ordizia carrying cocaine, 10,000 euros and smuggled tobacco
The driver has been arrested on charges of drug trafficking and possession of undeclared tobacco.
A35-year-oldman was arrested last night in Ordizia (Gipuzkoa) on charges of drug trafficking after confiscating 10,000 euros, 59 packets of tobacco and 10 bags of cocaine .
The event took place at around 10:05 p.m. in the centre of the town, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security, which reported that a car had carried out an evasive manoeuvre when it spotted a patrol of the Ertzaintza, which made the agents suspicious and they intercepted the vehicle and searched it.
The agents then found that the ITV had expired and that the driver had a very nervous behavior, so he was tested for drugs, which was positive.
While searching the vehicle, the officers found in the back seat a bag with 10,000 euro notes and a jacket with ten cocaine bags, along with 59 smuggled packets of tobacco under another seat, reinforcing suspicions of illegal activity.
The man was immediately arrested for an alleged drug trafficking offence and is also being investigated for possession of undeclared tobacco, the origin of which he was unable to justify at the time of arrest.
