A forest fire on Tuesday at noon between the municipalities of Muruzabal, Eneritz, Añorbe and Obanos has affected cereal fields already harvested and a pine tree , according to the Navarre Government.
The warning was received at 11:51 a.m. and since then a large ground and air operation has been deployed, as it is an area with dry vegetable cargo and weather conditions conducive to the spread of fire.
Forest brigades from the parks of Cordovilla, Estella, Tafalla and Sangüesa and the Helitransporta Forest Fire Brigade (BHIF) have participated in the extinction work, as well as two Navarre Government helicopters, two MITECO helicopters and a ground cargo aircraft based in Agoncillo, La Rioja.
In addition, they have requested the cooperation of agricultural tractors in the area in the construction of firewalls to help stop the advance of the fire. Officers of the Foral Police, the Civil Guard and forest guards are cooperating in coordination and security work.
For the time being, no information has been provided on the affected personsor the exact extent of the burnt surface.
