Strengthen the muscle of vasquism to start a new renaissance of the Basque Country
To bring Euskaltzalism to the front line and to spread the spark of hope among the citizens, so that the Council of Basque Culture wants to start a new renaissance of the Basque language , to look faithfully at the path that has been taken in recent decades, to learn from what has been done well or badly and to start new ways.
This message is reflected in the statement presented this afternoon in Arantzazu (Oñati) under the slogan "Euskaltzaleon garaia da". Various agents of the Basque culture have come together to support the initiative that comes to be the starting point for a new Renaissance. "We are not in Arantzazu at random, but because it has been the main refuge of that renaissance that linked the Euskara to the contemporary world."
Hope. This word appears again and again in the document read by the Secretary General of the Basque Culture Council, Idurre Eskisabel. Now that the Euskera is in linguistic emergency, it is a question of activating the Euskaltzales and calling for hope. "But hope is not waiting. Hope, as all these Euskaltzales have shown us, is to do.
At the same time, the other concept that they have highlighted in particular is Vasquism. At a time when the world is "so backward," they have explained that being Euskaltzale is "a basic political position," and after stressing the importance of the gestures and decisions of the citizens, they have focused their eyes on the institutions.
The event organized by the Council of Basque Culture on 27 December at the Bilbao Arena will be the one that aims to represent the beginning of the Basque Renaissance. They call on all Euskaltzales to attend and remember that tickets can be purchased on the Pizkundea portal.
