A man was arrested this morning in Barakaldo forhis alleged involvement in the case of the woman who appeared dead, the Ertzaintza reported late on Sunday.
No data has been disclosed on the man or his type of relationship with the woman.
The Ertzaintza opened an investigation this morning after the body of a woman was found in a house in Barakaldo.
EITB has been able to confirm that the body had "signs of violence compatible with homicide".
Around 11:30, the woman's relatives alerted the Ertzaintza that she had been found unconscious in her home and that she was apparently dead.
Officers from the Sestao police station and a doctor have come to the scene and have only been able to confirm his death.
A judicial procession has been formed and an investigation has been opened to clarify what happened.
The investigation is ongoing and the autopsy will determine the causes of death.
