The Basque Government approves a 1.5% increase in the salary of public sector workers
This increase will apply on the February payroll and will have retroactive effects from 1 January.
The Governing Council of the Basque Government approved on Tuesday an increase of 1.5% in the salaries of public sector workers in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, which will apply on the payroll in February 2026 and will have retroactive effects from 1 January.
The increase is in addition to that received in January 2026 (2.5%), corresponding to the delays of 2025, which will apply to civil and labour personnel in the service of the General Administration, Autonomous Agencies, Public Bodies of Private Law, Public Companies, Public Foundations and Consortia of the Basque Public Sector.
It shall also apply to the President, Councillors, Senior and Assimilated Officials, Contingent Staff and Directors, and the Basque Government shall make an investment of EUR 73,727,097 for the implementation of the measure.
