A man has been arrested on charges of attempting to kill his wife in Berriz
The Ertzaintza today arrested a man accused of attempting to stab his wife in Berriz (Bizkaia), according to the Basque Government's Department of Security.
The events took place around 07:20 today, when the Ertzaintza received a telephone call warning that a woman was being stabbed in a house in Berriz.
When the patrols arrived, the attacker was in the street and was arrested. The 38-year-old victim was in a serious condition inside the house and had several stab wounds.
The same sources have specified that the couple's four children and a neighbor have managed to stop the attack.
The woman has been taken by helicopter to Cruces hospital and one of the victim's daughters, a 15-year-old, has been slightly injured by her father.
The 48-year-old man has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and remains at the police station.
