Vitoria-Gasteiz will have a direct connection to Gran Canaria from 15 June to the end of September
The Canary Islands airline Binter has already put on sale the flight tickets that will connect the airports of Vitoria and Gran Canaria, according to its website.
The first flight will take place on 15 June, Monday, at an initial price of EUR 140(including rates and emission charges), and the same will be the prices for round-trip flights, i.e. EUR 280 in total.
The first flight will depart from Gran Canaria at 14:25 and arrive in Vitoria-Gasteiz at 18:25.
Until the end of September, flights will take place twice a week , on those schedules, on Mondays and Thursdays.
This route will make it possible, through the company's network, to connect with the six airports of the Canary Islands (Lanzarote, Tenerife Norte, Tenerife Sur, Fuerteventura, La Gomera and La Palma y Hierro), with the airports of the Portuguese islands of Madeira, Porto Santo and São Miguel (Azores), and with seven international airports in West Africa, Morocco, Western Sahara, Senegal, Mauritania and Cabo Verden.
Connectivity of the territory
On 26 March, the company VIA, consisting of the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Álava, the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Álava, awarded Binter Canarias, S.A. a tender for the route in the amount of 120,000 euros (VAT excluded).
VIA then stated that, in accordance with its Strategic Plan, it is working on "expanding and diversifying the air connectivity of Vitoria airport" and stressed that the summer season, which is holiday time, "allows both travel opportunities for citizens and the arrival of visitors to be enhanced, improving the accessibility of the territory".
