They're investigating an attack on a team while watching the World Cup final in a bar in Berriozar
A group of military personnel who were watching a football game in a local bar have been attacked with extensive bars and truncheons by a group of about 10 people. At least three people have been injured.
The Civil Guard has opened an investigation into the attack on a group of people on Sunday night in a bar in Berriozar, Navarre, watching the World Cup final match , in which hooded people with expansive bars and truncheons reportedly attacked a group of several military personnel.
The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. at a hotel in Berriozar, where military personnel who are usually stationed near the nearby Aizorroz barracks in Aizorroz — Aizoain — met last night to follow the football game together on a terrace with more customers.
In a moment, a dozen hooded people entered the bar, and went to the table where the military were expressly stationed, and beganto beat them with the expansive bars and truncheons.
Sources from the Civil Guard have confirmed to the EFE agency that at least three military personnel have been injured, one with an open head wound and several broken ribs, as well as a woman with a broken nose, a total of about six people with various types of injuries, some of whom were treated there and others had to be transferred to a health facility.
At the moment there have been no arrestsdue to the fact that the assailants fled the scene, while some of the assailants have filed complaints, in principle, with other police forces; however, as this is a crime against the military, the Civil Guard's judicial police will take over the investigation.
In addition, the attackers damaged the windows and furniture of the premises.
