The gastronomic contest will host Bilbao today, along with bilbainadas and dozens of activities for all audiences
Music and theatre and dance shows will combine this Monday with traditional activities such as gastronomic competition, fire bull and fireworks. Today there will be a reception for Athletic players and a mobilization of the Pensioners' Movement.
After the first weekend in Bilbao, the city will begin Monday with a schedule full of activities for all audiences. From morning until early morning, there will be no shortage of music, gastronomy and all kinds of shows.
The day began at ten o'clock with the target of the txistularis and the txupinarkein, and the Arenal will become the epicenter of the kitchen. For the elders, the gastronomic contestwill start with K, they will have to prepare a pisto today; and the smaller ones will have a cooking workshop in the Gastrotxiki area, today, to learn how to prepare salads.
The Mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, accompanied by representatives of the Corporation, will attend the traditional reception of the Athletic Club during the Big Week at 10:30 a.m. at the Ibaigane Palace.
As every morning of Big Week, at eleven o'clock the giants and heads will leave the Basque Museum with gaiters and txistularis, and the Old Part will be filled with music with the pasacalles of the Municipal Band of Txistularis.
The clamour will also have its place at the party, as the Pensioners' Movement will be mobilising today at 12 noon from Elliptical Square for decent pensions, as well as denouncing the genocide in Palestine.
At noon, all kinds of workshops will be held in the comparisons: talos, gardening, puppets, stone lifting, mask workshop, etc.
The txikigune will be open to the public in Doña Casilda Park from 11:00 to 16:30, and the small Ripan will be able to enjoy inflatables from 11:00 to 14:00.
There will be musical appointments at noon: in the Pergola, withthe bilbainadas Gau Pasa, and in the kiosk of the Arenal, with the concert of the Municipal Band of Music.

Music, verses and dances in the afternoon
At 13:00, there will be another round of bilbainadas in the Old Part, with the group Bilbotarrak, and, as every day, there will be a bertsos session in the Plaza Santiago (today will be sung by Mira Amuriza, Xabat Illarregi, Ekhuñe Zapiain and Aitor Mendiluze).
At 3 p.m., at the kiosk of the Arenal, the awards of the gastronomic contest will be presented.
At 3:30 p.m. there will be a travelling karaoke from Altza, and from 6:00 p.m. the SBK (Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba) will take over in Askapena.
As every afternoon, at 7:00 p.m. there will be a Basque dance session in Gas Square, today by the Goialde group of Erandio.
At night, rock, fireworks and vervain.
The evening comes full of rhythm: at 8:00 p.m., the Bilborock Hall will host the XXXIX Metal Pop-rock Exhibition with Nuzz and Scusi Boys. The Gas Square will host a romerie and Dance of the Ages at the same time, and the Circular Square, from 20:00 to 23:00, will host a dance with the Sukar group.
At 8:30 p.m., the Gizakunde Church will host a violin and piano concert with Tatiana Samouil and Josu Okiñena.
At 21:00 they will take the stage of Anari Kaskagorri and at the same time, in the Plaza del Arriaga the Bull of Fire will come out. At 22:30 the fires will continue, but this time in the sky, with the show presented today by the pyrotechn￮ supernovaof Uruguay.
The party will last until late at night, with three proposals: at the Evaristo Churruca pier, Anna Colom (Barcelona) will perform flamenco ; in the Pergola, Mariachi Imperial Elegancia Mexicana will perform; and Mirua will take the stage in Abandoibarra.
The evening will continue in the txosnas with concerts and DJs until early in the morning.
