The Colombian police havearrested the alleged intellectual author of the attack on Senator Miguel Uribe, which took place during a campaign event in Bogotá.
The alleged intellectual author has been arrested in an operation in the town of Engativá, Bogotá, police sources have reported.
The detainee has been arrested on charges of "attempted murder, illegal carrying of weapons and use of minors to commit crimes".
It should be remembered that the perpetrator was a young minor who was arrested immediately after the shooting.
Attack on Uribe
The 39-year-old politician was shot when he took the floor at an event in Fontibon and was taken to the nearest health centre.
After stabilizing his state of health, he was taken by ambulance to Fundació Santa Fe Hospital, one of the best hospitals in the country, where supporters of the party were waiting for him.
Miguel Uribe Turbay is not related to Alvaro Uribe, he is the son of conservative politician Miguel Uribe Londoño and journalist Diana Turbay, kidnapped and murdered by drug traffickers in 1991. He is also the grandson of Colombian President Julio César Turbay between 1978 and 1982.
