Chuck Norris, martial arts master and action film star, has died.
"With great sadness, the family wishes to inform you that our dear Chuck Norris died yesterday morning. Although we wish to maintain our privacy, please know that he died surrounded by his family and in peace," the note states.
Born March 10, 1940 in Norris, Oklahoma, his work in the world of cinema has been closely linked to martial arts. After joining the United States Air Force, he was sent to Korea, where he began his martial arts training.
He worked on films such as Silent Fury (1982), McQuade, Solitary Wolf (1983), Missing in Combat (1984), Invasion USA (1985) and Delta Force (1986), among others.
