The "Euskera Soundtrack" will wear the December 27 event of the Basque Culture Council
Anari will be one of the musicians participating in the event.
The Basque Culture Council challenged society a year ago with the aim of "embarking on the path from linguistic emergency to a new period of validity" and announced in March that on 27 December it wanted to fill the Bilbao Arena with Euskaltzales to "breathe a new breath into the Euskera".
Today it has been known that nine musicians will participate in the initiative called under the motto "Euskaraz bizi Pizkundea" to create the soundtrack of the Euskera: Amets Aranguren (Pamplona, 1998), Anari (Azkoitia, 1970), Beñat Goitia "Benizze" (Vitoria, 1991), Gontzal Mendibil (Zeanuri, 1956), Gorka Urbizu (Lekunberri, 1977)
In addition, actors Edurne Azkarate, Itziar Ituño, Mira Gaztañaga and Ramon Agirre, as well as bertsolaris Ane Labaka and Sustrai Colina, will participate in the event, which will be led by Oier Guillan.
Tickets for the event can be purchased for 10 euros at www.pizkundea.eus
The Council wants the act of 27 December to be the starting point for "a new Renaissance in favour of the Basque Country" and has given three important reasons for the public's presence: "to make a demonstration of the strength and unity of the Euskaltzales; to convey to the whole of Basque society that the normalization and revitalization of the Basque Country in its structural minority is the responsibility of all; and to promote a decisive leap in language policies that is essential and urgent".
