Euskadi has joined the Advisory Council of the reference report on UNESCO education
The Education Counsellor has attended the signing of the agreement at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Participation in the Advisory Council of the GEM Report "will give voice and visibility" to the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country in "future decisions on education", according to the Basque Government.

The Autonomous Community of the Basque Country has been incorporated into the Advisory Council of the UNESCO Gobal Education Monitoring Report (GEM), the international body which determines the core of the global reference report on education.
The agreement has been signed at UNESCO headquarters in Paris by the Education Counsellor, Begoña Pedrosa, and the Deputy Director-General for Education of UNESCO, Stefania Giannini.
GEM Report is a global reference report on education. The Basque Government stresses that each edition focuses on a key issue (inclusion, technology, evaluation or leadership) and points out that its inclusion in the Advisory Council "gives the Basque Country a voice and visibility in future decisions" on education.
Among the "benefits" it offers to the Basque education system, it emphasizes that there will be "greater opportunities to strengthen the criteria for improving results and reducing inequalities and making forecasts".
