The Basque Government and the Ministry of Health shall jointly examine the balances calculated for the Basque Country in the field of health
The BasqueGovernmentand the Ministryof Health have agreed to jointly analyse the computed balances in the field of health Euskadi in order to review the operation of the system and detect possible distortions in the application of State funds.
The Basque Government's Health Adviser, Alberto Martínez, met this Friday with the Minister of Health, Monica García , to discuss the situation created in the balances of the Health Cohesion Fund and the Assistance Guarantee Fund. Together withthe Director of Governance and Health Sustainability, Aritz Uriarte, and the Secretary of State for Health, Javier Padilla , a framework has been established.
According to these balances, the Basque Country contributes about 60% of the total expenditure of the Autonomous Community. It has been a fruitful meeting, in the words of the Health Adviser, at which it has been decided to jointly analyse the funds computed to the Basque Country.
Both sides have agreed to intensify cooperation through a first bilateral meeting next week andwith the convening of a special Monitoring Committee for the Cohesion Fund, scheduled for the end of November, with the participation of all the Autonomous Communities.
In this process, the Basque Government and the Ministry of Health undertake to study a number of specific aspects, including the possibility of creating a specific module in the SIFCO system to record economic flows between neighbouring autonomous communities with cooperation agreements.
They have also decided to make progress in the regulatory development that will regulate the operation ofFOGA and have been in favour of assessing, on the basis of a technical analysis of the system, the revision of the liquidation for the years 2023 and 2024 .
Following this meeting, the Health Adviser participated in the meeting of theInterterritorial Health Council held this morning in Zaragoza.
