When positions are removed in the negotiation of the law to shield the demand of the Basque Country in public administration, jeltzales and socialists have today joined an initiative in Parliament related to the Basque Country.  

PSE-EE member Jose Ignacio Asensio has accused Gipuzkoa MP Eider Mendoza and Donostia Mayor Jon Insausti of "lack of leadership" .

Following a complaint by the former PNV leader in Álava Alfredo de Miguel, the prison supervision judge responded in a different way to the decision of the Treatment Board and the Basque Government, "as befits the rule of law", merely enforced the final court decision, as confirmed by the spokeswoman for the Basque Government, María Ubarretxena.

The Housing and Urban Agenda Counsellor has also spoken about the political dispute between socialists and jeltzales over the Pasaitarra port over the past few days over the PNV's demand that the management of the Pasaitarra port be in the hands of the Basque Government.

The leader of the largest corruption plot in the Basque Country has obtained the third degree after spending 1 and a half years in prison (he was sentenced to 12 years in prison). The third degree has been granted against the decision of the Labour Prison Commission, according to sources from the Justice Department of the Basque Government.

Interviewed in Euskadi Irratia, GKS member Joanex Artola has stated that the presence of the Falangists on the streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz was a "responsibility" of the PNV, which he has described as a "strategy to conceal" the "campaign to criminalize anti-fascists". 

The meeting with the Spanish Government is scheduled for Friday. The Lehendakari and Counsellor will first assess compliance with the "necessary guarantees" for the signing of the transfer. As EITB has been aware, there are "constant contacts to reach an agreement" and "progress" has been made.

The Socialist Councillor has not hesitated. The day after tomorrow the Joint Transfer Commission will meet after the agreement has been concluded in the next few hours.

The PNV president, Aitor Esteban, has warned that if Pedro Sánchez's government fails to comply with the agreement on  transfers, the PNV will change its position.  "Before, we could have discussed more and we could have been more flexible , but perhaps now it will be different," he said.

EH Bildu, PNV, PSE-EE and Elkarrekin Araba have submitted a proposal for a foral rule to remove the titles of 'Father of Province' and 'Deputy General of Honour' given to the dictator and military. 

"We will try to be optimistic, but we will not stand idly by," insisted Esteban, who stressed that if the transfers are not closed on Friday, the PNV's position on the Spanish Government "will not be the same." "The Spanish Government will immediately realize this," said the leader jeltzale.

The President proposed the creation of this forum with the aim of strengthening democracy in the face of the rise of authoritarianism and disinformation in the world.

The MEP jeltzale believes that the President of the United States has made it clear that 'the only international regulation is his opinion and his morals', to which the EU must respond 'firmly'. The PNV leader also expects some movement from NATO. 

PNV and EH Bildu call for "respect for international law"  The PSE-EE does not make statements and the PP calls for "prudence". According to Podemos Euskadi, "violence cannot be considered a political instrument and attacks cannot be justified.

The PNV's parliamentary spokesman, Joseba Díaz Antxustegi, has stressed that the opposition in the Basque Country "is angry at its inability to enter into the country's major agreements" and that this anger "has led to the polarization and noise of the Madrid political environment in the Basque Country".

The local institution met this morning as a matter of urgency to agree on an institutional declaration containing the name of Josu Andoni Begoria with a target in the middle. The text was approved with the votes in favour of the PNV and the PP, not signed by EH Bildu. 

The votes of the PNV and the PSE have been sufficient to approve the budget without accepting the opposition's proposals. The capital will have 751 million euros, 32 million more than in 2025, which will be used mainly to cover social spending, improve infrastructure and promote culture. As in recent years, the Bilbao City Council will not borrow.

In this regard, EH Bildu's spokesman in the Basque Parliament has pointed out that the PNV "has not been part of a bloc that provides permanent support" or has "a shared programme" with the government of Pedro Sánchez, so he does not believe that "the parliamentary dynamic will change much".

Esteban said if the signing was not complied with, it would be "serious and in breach of the investiture agreement."
