Elgarresta on the suppression of night events at Bakio parties: "From the preventive dimension it is not understood and we do not see it correctly."
Bakio City Council cancels its August 29 night events on the grounds of "increased violence." Emakunde's director, Mira Elgarresta, believes it is positive to put sexist aggression in the center, but disagrees with the decision. She says that "women must occupy public space, on equal terms and with all security."
