Sanfermines 78 and March 3 call on the Spanish state to take responsibility for the events of 1976 and 1978

The Sanfermines 78 and March 3 collectives have promoted the "Responsible State" initiative, which seeks to urge the Spanish Government to expressly recognize the primary and direct responsibility of the Spanish State for the crimes that occurred on 3 March in Vitoria-Gasteiz and during the 1978 Sanfermines. On 8 July, they will also commemorate Germán Rodríguez in Pamplona/Iruña for the murder of the policemen during the festivities.

The UPV/EHU rectoral team has described the launch of smoke boats on the Álava campus as "unacceptable"

On the eve of the anniversary of the 3 March massacre, a group of students have installed smoke boats in four faculties on the Álava campus, which has led to the activation of the protocol and the evacuation of classrooms. The rectorate has said in a statement that it supports the students "right to claim and protest, but will not accept" methods contrary to the security of people, coexistence and the fundamental right to education of the rest of the university community.
