35 international non-profit organizations announced today that they will allocate $300 million over the next three years to climate emergency initiatives, including the Gates, Wellcom Trust or the Rockefeller Foundation.

The People's Leader will not renounce the Act of Deputies and will continue to be eligible. He has not announced any electoral advance and the deadline for electing his replacement will be opened on Monday, once he has formally resigned. The groups will have until 19 November to present their candidates. 

Hurricane 'Melissa' has destroyed the island of Jamaica, with at least 28 dead. Jamaican authorities have claimed that the hurricane has caused an "unprecedented" disaster.

In a speech to the National Executive Committee, Feijóo said that today "a member" of the party who has suffered "political and personal hunting" and who "is not a murderer" resigned. "He made mistakes, yes, he also apologized, and today he took them to the end," he said.

The inhabitants of the far east of Cuba were the first to notice the effects of Hurricane Melissa, which hit the ground when it was 03:10 local time (08:10 in the Basque Country), with sustained winds of 193 kilometres per hour, although then weakened.

Hurricane Melissa has reached level 4 again, on a scale of 5, according to the latest report of the United States National Hurricane Center (NHC). With maximum winds of 215 km/h wind, the hurricane is located 175 km southwest of Guantánamo (Cuba) and is heading east of the island. Melissa crossed Jamaica as a category 5 hurricane with winds of more than 280 km/h and then weakened until it was reinforced on its way to Cuba.

Hurricane Melissa is approaching the west coast of Jamaica with 280 km/h of wind, torrential rains and strong waves, which authorities say is a "very dangerous hurricane" and fears could cause significant damage.

A year ago a GOIDI shook the Valencian Community.  Many families lost everything. Many families lost their members.
