The lehendakari has defended the action of the Ertzaintza on 12 October on several streets in the centre of the Alavesa capital, where radical groups burned containers and caused extensive material damage following a rally called by the Spanish Falange.

On 23 February 1981, the Civil Guard Antonio Tejero entered the Congress of Deputies to the cry of "Stop all!" After the failed coup d'état, he was expelled from the Civil Guard for military rebellion and sentenced to 30 years' imprisonment, serving only half of his sentence, and released in 1996.

A question by Mertxe Aizpurua (EH Bildu) on measures to end the exaltation of Francoism has provoked a fierce confrontation between the Socialist Party and the People's Party. In his reply to EH Bildu's parliamentary spokesman, Pedro Sánchez has announced that a catalogue of Franco symbols will be drawn up that will be removed from the streets.

Sanchez made this announcement at the Government Control Session in the plenary of Congress in response to a question from EH Bildu's parliamentary spokeswoman, Mertxe Aizpurua, who asked him what measures the government will take to "end the exaltation of Francoism."

The detainees were charged with a crime of public disorder for throwing stones and various materials at agents of the security apparatus. They were also involved in the counter-demonstration against the action of Falange Española.

The Basque Government's Assessment Committee ruled in 2015 that there was insufficient evidence to refute the official version of suicide, and now, with these new indications, they are asking the Basque Government to reevaluate the case.

A few months before the death of the dictator Franco, on 5 October 1975, ETA killed three civil guards in the shrine of Aránzazu. That same day, at night, three strangers shot Iñaki Etxabe at the bar in Kanpazar. The Spanish Basque Battalion claimed responsibility for the attack.

It is half a century since the Franchists shot Jon Paredes' Txiki 'and Angel Otaegi . For a long time, their relatives have been working hard not to lose their memory. They have felt very forgotten by the institutions, because those two young people who fought against the Franco dictatorship were not recognized as victims until 2012.

The PNV and the PSE-EE claim to be victims of Francoism, but call for terrorism not to be blurred. EH Bildu defends their memory as a "reference" for the fight against Francoism and calls for the PP to remember the "crimes" they committed.

He has announced that he will file a lawsuit for the death of Roque Méndez Villada and José Luis Mondragón Elorza, who died in 1974 in a Franco police operation in Hondarribia.
