Otegi has insisted that it was "a very profound knowledge, and in political terms it was very important" for Imanol Pradales to say that there may be dark times for self-government. "It is precisely those dark times that do not come, or if they come, that offer willingness to resist."

The Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats has responded in a statement to the 'insults' expressed by the President of the PNV, Aitor Esteban, at the events held on Saturday in Paris and has once again questioned whether this building really belonged to the PNV and has argued that it belonged to the Basque Government.

BBB President Iñigo Ansola has stressed that the agreements in favour of the Basque Country "are under way" and has warned that "opportunities" will not wait and has asked the leader of EH Bildu to join the settlement processes initiated without delay.

The EA leader has said that in June 2026 "we cannot be making assessments" because "there is a risk of closing the window of historic opportunity in 2027", referring to possible elections that will change the composition of Parliament.

The first General Policy Plenary of the new political course is being held today in the Basque Parliament. The day began with lehendakari , Imanol Pradales, condemning the "genocide in Gaza." "We are fed up [...] This violence causes grief, anger and powerlessness," he has denounced.

The Basque Parliament will resume its post-summer activity today with the General Policy Plenary. The President and the parliamentary groups will put on the table issues which will mark the political year.

The General Secretary of the People's Party, Miguel Tellado, believes that the PNV "has aged badly in a very short time," has become "a bad copy of EH Bildu," and "is no longer a center-right party."  According to the popular leader, "the PP is the only possible alternative."

In the first General Policy Debate to be held next Thursday, 18 September, in the Basque Parliament, Pradales has advanced the guidelines to be drawn up by lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, in which he will analyse the challenges and opportunities of the Basque Country "at this time of instability and uncertainty". 

With this strategy, the Basque Government aims to strengthen protection against evictions, guarantee the right to housing and analyse the indicators of tension generated by the capital as a municipality bi of the metropolitan area of San Sebastián.

PSE-EE Secretary General Eneko Andueza has stressed in ETB1's "Egun On" program that "we need to focus on the issues that unite us, not those that separate us." He has said that "the future of self-government must be agreed with the state and subject to the Constitution."

For its part, Podemos, PP and Vox criticize the decision of the Spanish Government. The president has announced nine measures against Israel on Monday to condemn it for genocide.

Nerea Kortajarena, a member of parliament of EH Bildu, has stated that one of EH Bildu's "top priorities" in this legislature will be to "provide answers" in all institutions, especially in municipalities with authority.

Cristina Ibarrola, president of UPN, has proclaimed that "the cycle of illusion, hope, sincerity and truth begins" at the opening ofthepolitical year under the slogan "Navarra y punto" (Navarre and that's it).
