The fires of San Juan illuminate the night in some villages of Euskal Herria
Extreme temperatures and the red fire risk alarm have caused most of the fires in the Basque Country to cease, however, fires have been declared in several villages of Euskal Herria on the eve of San Juan. This has been celebrated in Durango and Eibar.

The Eibar Corporation will hold an extraordinary plenary today to decide whether or not to suspend the sokamuturras of the San Juan festivities
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. and half an hour earlier, at 6:30 p.m., there will be rallies outside the town hall by supporters and opponents of the sokamuturra.

On the eve of St. John the City Council has danced in front of the strawberry that dominates the square of the Constitution of San Sebastian
The City Council, together with the dancers of Goizaldi, Arkaitz, Eskola and Gero Axular, and the Municipal Band of Txistularis, have danced the traditional Eskudantza.
Once the Authority is over, the time has come to perform the ritual of the strawberry. Mayor Eneko Goia has watered the strawberry and then the dancers have set it on fire.
