The president has resigned on the grounds of lack of strength, but he will remain a deputy to maintain his appetite. No election call is on the table, but the PP needs Vox's support to appoint the new head of the Consell before the end of the month.

The victims of GOIDI have once again taken to the streets, beyond the resignations, to demand justice. They believe that the resignation of Carlos Mazón comes late and badly. They also condemn the fact that the president's appearance focused on material damage, and that he declared himself a victim of criminalization.

The People's Leader will not renounce the Act of Deputies and will continue to be eligible. He has not announced any electoral advance and the deadline for electing his replacement will be opened on Monday, once he has formally resigned. The groups will have until 19 November to present their candidates. 

In a speech to the National Executive Committee, Feijóo said that today "a member" of the party who has suffered "political and personal hunting" and who "is not a murderer" resigned. "He made mistakes, yes, he also apologized, and today he took them to the end," he said.

The resignation of Carlos Mazón as preseidente of the Generalitat Valenciana has immediately provoked a long string of reactions and responses, both from victims and political actors.

Virginia Ortiz Riquelme, cousin of Juan Alejandro Ortiz, who died in Letur (Albacete) as a result of GOIDI, has said that the person responsible for the tragedy is the one who neglected his responsibility  In his words, "the cause of the tragedy lived" was not the storm, but "the one who abandoned his mission", knowing that doing so could cause deaths.

A year has passed and the political responsibilities have not yet been cleared up. No one yet knows what Carlos Mazón did in the decisive hour of that afternoon.
