Angle fishing suspended in the Basque Country

The fishing of the angle planned for the 2025-2026 campaign in the Basque Country has been suspended following reports explaining the critical situation of the species .
The Official Gazette of the Basque Country has published the resolution of the Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Basque Government, Ixone Soroa, against which an appeal may be lodged during the month of November.
The Department of Food, Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries announced this decision at thebeginning of the month due to the "critical" state of the eel , since this species is "outside the safe biological limits" in the Basque Country.
