Entertainment workers are on strike today in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa
Entertainment workers and technicians are called to strike today, Friday, in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. They say the reasons for the strike are "many", such as long uncontrolled schedules or strict calendars.
They therefore call for the regularisation of the sector and the establishment of decent and fair working conditions by means of an agreement of their own which guarantees labour rights.
In fact, they say that they have days that are much longer than eight hours and that rest periods are not respected, with the difficulties of conciliation that this entails and as long as they do not have the right conditions of pay or work in return. They denounce the immobilist attitude of the EUKI employers and the responsibility of the public institutions.
Together with the union of technicians, LAB, ELA, ESK, CCOO and UGT have also called for today's strike, and they have reported that they are also receiving support from technicians working as self-employed; in the form of a gesture of solidarity, they have already suspended countless shows.
Today, therefore, great incidents are expected in the cultural offering. Concerts, theatres and congresses, among others, are expected to be affected by the strike. They have also called on the public not to attend the shows.
