Guipuzcoan bookstores have praised "A Horse", "The Bill and the Dirty" and "A Woman Who Loves"
The novel by Maddi Ane Txoperena, the comic book by Eneko and Ibai Iztueta and Aritz Vieites, and the book by Theodor Kallifatides will receive next Tuesday the Euskadi de Plata Prize, awarded by the Gipuzkoa Booksellers Association to recognize works that last year deserved greater commercial success and visibility.
The books "A Horse" (Maddi Ane Txoperena), "The Account and the Dirty" (Eneko and Iban Iztueta and Aritz Vieites) and "A Woman Who Loves" (Theodor Kallifatides) will receive the awards awarded this year by the Basque Association of Silver Booksellers of Gipuzkoa.
The aim of these annual awards is to rescue the works of the previous year, which deserve greater commercial impetus and visibility, and will be held on October 13 at the Elkar bookstore in the Old Town on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this venue.
For the jury, the book "A Horse" breaks down not only plots, but especially feelings through literature.
The graphic novel 'A Basque Pop Noir' (Txalaparta), for its part, 'enriches the possibilities of the Basque comic book, combining the history of the country with the narrative and visual norms of the classic thriller'.
The Gipuzkoa Booksellers Association has organized a meeting with the award-winning writer Theodor Kallifatides at the San Telmo Museum in collaboration with Donostia Kultura for the same day as the award ceremony on October 13.
