The novel by Maddi Ane Txoperena, the comic book by Eneko and Ibai Iztueta and Aritz Vieites, and the book by Theodor Kallifatides will receive next Tuesday the Euskadi de Plata Prize, awarded by the Gipuzkoa Booksellers Association to recognize works that last year deserved greater commercial success and visibility.

The PISA report reveals a regression in the reading comprehension of young people in the Basque Country. Writers Jasone Osoro and Jon Arretxe have been presenting their books in schools for 25 years and have noticed a smaller presence of paper books in classrooms. However, booksellers have not noticed a decline in sales. Instead, they are seeing changes in reading habits: several creators are beginning to adapt their texts linguistically, and the book that a child of ten years ago read is now being read by a 12-year-old.

Erein Publishing House has republished the novel "Ene Jesus" by Ramón Saizarbitoria, published in 1976. A series of prefaces and illustrations by Joxean Muñoz accompany the story that deals with "Mother," in Muñoz's words, "a story that is more than difficult, hard."

The Museum of Basque Nationalism of the Sabino Arana Foundation will host in Sabin Etxea, Bilbao, until 12 March, a travelling exhibition entitled 'Lauaxeta, the author of dreams', organized by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia in collaboration with the museum to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Basque poet and writer Esteban Urkiaga.

Writer Jon Arretxe has set aside Touré's stories and published the black novel "Pigs and Flowers." 

It will be on sale at the Durango Fair. 

The Vitorian writer presents the book Stone Heart , a work that collects all kinds of texts (reflections, memories, aphorisms, poems...) classified from A to Z or "a heartbeat alphabet." 

The professor and researcher has dedicated his new work to the poet in Bilbao (Pamiela, 2025), after publishing another book about Lauaxeta earlier this year.
