Three workers have died in 24 hours at work
Three workers have died while working in the last 24 hours. Two of them were forest workers, who have died from a branch, while the other suffered a non-traumatic work-related accident.
On Monday, in the Navarre town of Alsasua, a 45-year-old forest worker died as a result of being hit by a branch, hired by a company in Logroño, so, according to LAB, it will not appear in the official statistics of Navarre.
On Tuesday, in Eskoriatza (Gipuzkoa), another worker died of a branch in the forest.
Finally, in Donostia-San Sebastián , a worker died of a heart attack, and LAB stressed that he was 65 years old and working on his knees. He was working for the Temporary Union of Historic Parks 2023, subcontracted by the City Council of Donostia-San Sebastián.
The union denounces that the only person responsible for the deaths is the lack of prevention, and says that harsh measures must be taken in the face of this. "We workers die, not employers," he adds.
