ELA has denounced the serious situation of the ambulance service in Bizkaia and has requested that this service be made public in view of the forthcoming tender for health transport. Sindicted has reported in a press release that the current company, UTE Bizkanb, follows the path followed by Grup La Pau, which left the service at the end of 2024, leaving debts to workers and the Treasury.
Thus, ELA criticizes the management of the UTE Bizkanb, which was approved under an emergency contract, and denounces the improper use of ambulances, the lack of minimum endowments in emergencies and the refusal to apply ergonomic tests.
The union has also accused the company of obstructing trade union work and exaggerating the leadership structure. It has stated that the service has fewer resources than it should and that the company has gained public money. For all these reasons, ELA has demanded that the Basque Government assume direct management of the service and has demanded that it subrogate the current staff.
