Elon Musk, founder and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has supported the merger of the two companies, which would result in a technology giant with a joint stock capitalization of $3.5 trillion, as well as the largest business merger in history.
SpaceX and Tesla have set up a committee to consider a possible merger, but in the presentation of the aerospace company's results this Wednesday, Musk has made it clear that the operation is not guaranteed to take place.
Despite this, the entrepreneur has stated that the merger would have "many advantages" and would be "a good idea."
Musk's statements come after it became known that SpaceX made a net profit of $4.404 billion in the third quarter of 2026, compared with losses of $1.054 billion between July and September last year.
