Bizkaia hasclosed the 2024 Income campaign with 675,000 declarations, of which 498,431 were refundable, or 73,84 per cent, although 5,210 fewer than the previous year.
Itxaso Berrojalbiz The Member of Parliament for Finance and Finance of Bizkaia, Itxaso Berrojalbiz, has read the campaign carried out between 10 April and 30 June and has explained that, although the number of taxpayers whose statement to be returnedhas decreased, the Treasury has paid them a total of 598,698,193 euros, 41 million more than in the previous year.
By contrast, 176,543 taxpayers (26.16 per cent, almost 10,000 more than in 2023) have had to pay an average of €2,653, totalling €468,386,837 in the Treasury, 40 million more than in 2023.
The overall amount of the campaign, that is, the difference between what was paid in and what was returned by the Treasury, "is EUR 130.3 million in favour of the taxpayers of Bizkaia", the Member stressed.
The 675,000 statements submitted are 5,000 more than in 2023, and Berrojalbize has linked it to "the great work of the Treasury professionals, "who made 788,000 draft statements, in order to facilitate the presentation of the statements.
In addition, the declarations have been increased by the positive development of the territorial employment rate , by the positive impact of the measures implemented to contain inflation, especially for the most disadvantaged persons, and by the introduction of drafts of restrictions on 110,757,000 taxpayers who contributed to a mutual fund prior to 1979, which have led to the return of EUR 107 million.
Bizkaia taxpayers have applied deductions in IRPF statements of €750,107,602, the most used deduction being thatof descendants (in 22,000 cases), followed by investment in habitual housing (almost €192,000).
The rent deduction has been used by another 59 000 people, for an average amount of €1,115, and the disability or dependency deduction is the one that has had the highest average refund amount, with €1,199.
The Member of Parliament has assessed that the Treasury "paid taxpayers with a refund in less than three days, much faster than the promise to execute it within seven days".
As usual, taxpayers have had three forms of declaration: digital, telephone and face-to-face. Digital is still the most chosen. Specifically, in eight out of ten presentations ( 77.53%), in telephone presentations 16.63% have been received and in offices 5.84% have been made.
