The Basque Government grants preliminary administrative authorization to the photovoltaic plant 'Beitia' in the Ribera Baja de Álava
The project envisages more than 7,000 panels to generate 4 MW.
The Basque Government has granted a preliminary administrative authorization for the construction of the photovoltaic facility 'Beitia'. The infrastructure to be located in Ribera Baja (Álava) will consist of 7,020 panels divided into six parts to generate 4 MW.
The Official Gazette of the Basque Country (BOPV) published on Monday the resolution of the Department of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability on the 'Beitia' project promoted by Mirador Norte FV S.L.
The project also provides for the creation of a half-voltage underground line (30 kV) from the transformation centre to the section centre adjacent to the evacuation point. This line will be 1,632 metres long and will run entirely within the municipality of Ribera Baja.
Despite the approval of the prior administrative authorisation, the Basque Government has established a number of conditions to be taken by the company responsible for the development of the project, including environmental measures . These conditions shall be "accredited to the Territorial Delegation of Álava within a maximum period of six months".
In this regard, a number ofmeasures are highlighted for the protection of the landscape and the restoration of affected areas , as well as for the protection of the natural environment, among others. It is also required to ensure that the vegetation formations of the bank are not affected at the intersection of the river Baia "in order to preserve the quality and conservation of the river areas along the river".
It shall also present a technical solution to cover the regulatory distances from the area of the evacuation line of the Ekienea photovoltaic facility. The Ekienea project is being processed by the Spanish Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge and will be located near Ribera Baja.
