Home mortgages in the Basque Country rose 24% in June
Navarre, on the other hand, is the only state in decline.
According to provisional data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of June 2025, the number of home mortgages in the Basque Country has increased by 24.0% compared to June 2024.
In Navarre, however, it has fallen by 0.7% in the same period, making the only autonomous community with a negative change in the state.
At the national level, the total number of mortgages on housing has been 41,834;this is , a year-on-year increase of 31.7%. The average amount of these mortgages has been €168,363, with an average interest rate of 2.99% and an average period of 25 years.
The data are provisional and will be updated once the final figures for the same period of next year are published.
