The Basque Parliament will not process the ILP that asks to equalise the minimum pension to the SMI
The Basque Parliament will not be processed by the Popular Legislative Initiative (ILP), which reacts to the equipación de las pensiones minimimas al Salario Mínimo Interprofesional (SMI), a initiative that deals with the response of more than 145 000 signatures.
One of the main reasons for the positioning of the Basque Government is that the protection for pension perceptors is already integrated into the current system.
With this position, the Basque Parliament will take the lead in monitoring the initiative and in processing the consensus, already the groups that support the Government, the PNV and the PSE-EE, will have the majority to respond to this decision in the Chamber.
The Executive, which the ILP does not adjust to the current regulations or to the principles of sustainability, equity and coherence of the Basque model of social protection and that the proposal does not comply with the requirements established in the Regulation of the Basque Parliament in relation to the initiatives undertaken by the Basque Parliament.
EH Bildu considers that the establishment of the Basque Government is a "grave error" and "despondency" to all the people who have supported the ILP. Asymmetry, satisfaction that the political course has been initiated with "a mistake that contradicts that model of cooperative and participatory governance of which so much is spoken, but which at the time of truth is not practised".
Your own model with dignified income
Además, the Basque Government, que, por la naturaleza de la medida, corresponde al ámbito estatal abordar mejoras generales de pensiones, ya que Euskadi can no legislate on complementary benefits linked to the state system of contributive pensions through a parallel system that breaks the coherence of its own (Basque) model of social protection.
