The Basque Government

President Imanol Pradales today closed the 20th anniversary event of the Amorebieta-Etxano Automotive Intelligence Center (AIC), in which he stated that Europe must "protect without delay" its industrial market, its European automotive industry and its competitiveness. He called on Brussels to "take a clear direction" to defend the interests of the sector and invest in  'Made in Europe'.

The deadline for submitting applications will be open until 14:00 on November 10, 2026. Registration will take place at euskadi.eus.

The increase in the third quarter of the year has been based on the positive development of construction and services, according to the Basque Institute of Statistics, Eustat. 

In this regard, the Basque Government has statedthat it respects the opinion of Cebek, but believes that "the most appropriate thing" is to comply with the basic regulations on wage increases established in the Spanish State.

The Basque Finance Council has confirmed that tax collection will be 1.1% higher this year than planned, with a forecast of 22,681 million for 2027.

According to sources consulted by EITB, and in the absence of official confirmation, the PSE-EE general secretary in Álava will be the tourism advisor, as Hurtado will have to leave the government to run for general election.

The Government will henceforth carry out directly the work previously carried out by victims' associations.

The Councillor for Tourism, Trade and Consumer Affairs of the Basque Government shall cease in the event of his being elected to the General Elections, since both positions are incompatible.

In the face of criticism from the PP, Counsellor Zupiria has defended in the Basque Parliament the Action Plan for the Prevention of the Use of White Weapons in the Basque Country, although she has shown her willingness to review it "if necessary".

Lehendakari Imanol Pradales has called on the Spanish Government to have the same "speed and courage" with the decrees passed to alleviate the housing crisis to implement outstanding transfers. Pradales has also addressed EH Bildu and urged him to "demand compliance with the Statute with the same enthusiasm with which he supports the decisions of the Spanish Government".

Nerea Melgosa, Counsellor for Welfare, Youth and Demographic Challenge, said in an interview on Radio Euskadi that "it is important to make public policies to solve people's problems, not to create them, not to beat them up." She also expressed concern that people in the process of extraordinary regularization of migrants have one year to find work. 

Bingen Zupiria, the Basque Government's Department of Security, believes that it is good to criticise institutions, to criticise institutional behaviour, but that it is "very dangerous" to question the legitimacy of the institutions.

On 7 October 1936, the first Basque Government was created, chaired by the Lehendakari José Antonio Agirre. 90 years later, the central event of the anniversary will be held at the Gernika-Lumo House of Assemblies, chaired by the Lehendakari Imanol Pradales.

The housing union AZET in Bilbao has denounced the eviction of a low-income woman who has been living there for 10 years and who, according to the union, wants to be evicted for not being able to pay rent in Alokabide and has not been offered a housing option.
