ACV exports fell 29% in August following the application of new tariffs

The exports of Basque companies fell 29% in August compared to the same month of 2024, to €1.508 billion, a sharp decline in thefirst month of the application of the new tariffs agreed between the EU and the US .

The decline in energyproducts was caused by , which fell by 77.6%, while non-energy products fell by 22.5%, especially in the automotive sector.

By territory, Bizkaia recorded the largest decline (-36.3 per cent), mainly due to the decline in energy products, while in Álava external sales fell by 32.7 per cent and in Gipuzkoa by 16.3 per cent.
