ELA and LAB have brought Confebask before the Court of Justice of the Basque Country in defence of the minimum wage
The trade unions have already formalized the complaint against Confebask, filed with the Court of Justice of the Basque Country, on the grounds that the employers have refused to negotiate a minimum wage of their own for the Basque Country.

ELA and LAB have taken the next step in the open conflict over a Minimum Wage of their own in the Basque Country. As they announced, they have filed a lawsuit with the Court of Justice of the Basque Country against Confebask accusing him of failing to comply with his legal obligation to sit down and negotiate.
Both trade unions recall that, after the failure of the conciliation in the Council on Labour Relations, they chose the judicial channel to oblige the Basque employers to enter into an inter-professional agreement that would enable them to establish their own SMI (Interprofessional Minimum Wage) applicable to all workers, whether or not they have an agreement.
According to ELA and LAB, Confebask's "systematic" refusal to open a dialogue table believes that the law supports his request, which marks the beginning of a new chapter in a conflict in which trade unions insist that they continue to mobilize to defend this claim.
