The railway manufacturer Talgo has agreed with the German operator Deutsche Bahn to reduce the supply contract for model 230 from 79 to 60.
As the company has informed the National Securities and Exchange Commission (CNMV), and in line with what it had anticipated in the presentation of results for the first half of 2025, the changes to the contract for the supply of 230 trains have been formalized by a settlement agreement between Talgo and operator Deutsche Bahn.
In particular, this agreement provides for a reduction in the scope of manufacturing from 79 to 60 trains, while maintaining the framework contract that would extend demand to 100 trains, while at the same time incorporating a new long-term review and maintenance contract, as well as adjusting the project timetable, among others.
This means that the Spanish company will avoid the penalties that the delivery of trains would entail after the deadline. In Spain, the delivery of certain trains to Talgo was punishable by EUR 116 million.
