The average retirement pension in the Basque Country in December was€1,841.80 , €329.07 more than the national average, and the pension in the Spanish State was €1,512.73.
According to data published by the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and Migration, theBasque Country is the autonomous community with the highest retirement pension, followed by Asturias (€1,779.04), Madrid (€1,733.78) and Navarra (€1,694.12).
By territory, it is €1,873.61 in Bizkaia (there are €199,553 pensions), €1,857.58 in Álava (€58,268 pensions) and €1,788.35 in Gipuzkoa (€139,965 pensions).
On the other hand, the average pension has been €1,623.48 (retirement pension, permanent incapacity, widowhood, orphanage and family pension), 4.07 per cent higher than in the same month of 2024.
In December, Social Security pensions in the Basque Country were 588,024, 5.64 per cent of all State pensions and 0.97 per cent higher than in the same month of 2024, of which 393,786 are retirement pensions, followed by permanent disability pensions and widows' pensions.
