Farmers continue to protest in the North, and the A-63 has been cut off

Northern Basque farmers keep the A-63 motorway in Baiona cut in both directions, and traffic between Baiona, Biriatu, Pau and Bordeaux is being hindered.

The peasants are meeting today with the prefect of the Atlantic Pyrenees, and it remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement and lift the blockade or continue the protests.

The labourers of the Ultra 63 movement, without a union, are clear in their claim: to abandon the Mercosur agreement and the mass extermination, and to write on paper the commitments made by the prefect.

They say that if no written commitments are made, the villagers will not withdraw from the A-63, so traffic between Baiona, Biriatu, the Pyrenees and the Lands will continue to be prevented at this point.
