The measure, which has been in force since November 2025, has been suspended once it has been established that there are no cases of wild birds and that temperatures have risen.

The Spanish Government recognizes in a royal decree the symbolic and social value of the times in the northern part of the Iberian Peninsula. The declaration will help to ensure the preservation of these traditional constructions, which jeopardize the lack of maintenance, homogenization and generational differences.

The measure will be maintained in Special Risk and Surveillance Areas: 12 municipalities in Navarre will continue to be confined by poultry farms and six in the ACV.

Lur Geroa usually draws up forest management plans for the municipalities of Navarre, where most of the mountains and forests are public, and where the municipalities of Navarre own about 80% of the forests. According to Navarre regulations, the Foral Government is responsible for financing forest management plans, but the municipalities have to approve them and many require citizen participation. 

The consultancy proposes, among other things, how these forests can be exploited in a sustainable manner, that is, how much wood can be extracted from each forest in 10 or 15 years, without the loss of volume of forests. In addition, municipalities are obliged to invest 20% of the money they receive from their exploitation (sale of timber or leasing of land) in the mountain. It also advises how to make these investments.

Members of the primary sector, including tractors, demonstrated this Saturday in Vitoria-Gasteiz against the agreement between the European Union and Mercosur and in defence of the food sovereignty of the Basque Country. In the protest called by Araba Bizirik, Ataca, Bionekazaritza and UAGA, they have denounced that this agreement puts food health and safety at risk,  "It opens the doors even more to multinationals that use hormones that are banned in Europe."

Amid applause from Klaxon and local walkers, some 8,000 farmers and 500 tractors from all over the state have returned to the centre of Madrid. s have protested against the Common Agricultural Policy of the Basque Country and the cuts and losses resulting from the new EU-Mercosur trade agreement.  Farmers from the Basque Country have also come; at least 35 farmers from the Ataca group in Álava have taken part in the protest.

Along with the strings to protect the doughnut and throat, the oxen tests have a special place in San Blas, but this year the City Council has had to make adjustments to the program due to dermatosis. 

The presence of cattle at fairs and exhibitions shall be prohibited, but Members of Parliament may, exceptionally, authorize the presence of cattle from the same farm under certain conditions, which may make the holding of shows and sokamuturras of carnival cowboys knocking on the door.

Today, January 15, 2026, the Government will decide whether the conditions for attending tomorrow's meeting of the Joint Transfer Commission are in place; the doctors in Osakidetza will have a second day of strike, after yesterday's, to demand their own status; and the farmers and farmers in Hego Euskal Herria will make a tractor march towards Biriatu. 

Convened by Ataca Treviño and the Araba Landaren Alde Association, they were planning to protest again today at A-1, but they have finally abandoned it on the grounds that there has been a high turnout in this week's calls and that their demands have been heard. 

Yesterday, the Ertzaintza prevented farmers and farmers from leaving for the A-1 on the grounds that they were not allowed to do so. After receiving permission from the Basque Government, the tractors will be able to go on the motorway. 

The opening of the road will ease the traffic jams on the border with Lapurdi, where long lines of trucks have accumulated these days, yet the agricultural sector conflict remains open.

Farmers across Europe have been protesting for weeks, not least because of the agreement reached by the EU with Mercosur and approved by the Member States, an economic pact which will regulate trade between South America and Europe and which benefits some sectors and may harm others. 

the organization warns of the consequences of "a scenario that allows the marketing of meat from Brazil or Argentina", which sets a price "well below the production costs" of a Basque farm.

Gipuzkoa will vaccinate 42,500 cattle against nodular dermatosis during the mandatory vaccination campaign that began this Friday in the territory and will be completed within approximately two months on 1,900 farms.
