The Basque Government has lifted the ban on the movement of heavy goods vehicles (trucks exceeding 7,500 kg) to Lapurdi, which entered into force last Friday following the blockade of the A-63 motorway by farmers in the French Basque Country by long queues at the AP-8 Biriatou toll.
However, after four days of blockade, the A-63 off Baiona has been reopened, leaving the Biriatou toll open for all vehicles.
As a result, hundreds of heavy goods vehicles have taken to the road in the direction of Baiona, resulting in long delays, according to the Basque Government in a statement.
