Irun's new international station will receive its first passengers today
The opening will be partial (three of the ten platforms), with 67% of the Commuter services recovered prior to the start of the "third line" of the High Speed Train.
After two years, the new Irun International Railway Station will host its first passengers this Tuesday. Today , three of the ten platforms will be inaugurated. The three will be for commuter trains. Thus, 67% of the trains that had commuter service before the start of the so-called "third line" between Astigarraga and Irun will be restored.
The new station inIrun, which will cost EUR 75 million, is expected to be completed by the summer, when all the platforms will be operational and 100% of the suburbs will be recovered, and negotiations are under way for the suburbs to reach Hendaia by the end of this year and for French trains to enter Irun.
