Volkswagen Navarra will make 93 permanent workers and reject the ERE

The management of Volkswagen Navarra and the UGT and CCOO unions have signed an agreementto comply with the 2026 production programme , which includes a fixed contract for 93 workers currently on temporary contracts and which, for the time being, excludes the opening of an employment regulation dossier.

The production programme is carried out annually by the factory and includes production plans and workload work plans. By 2026 it is planned to produce about 262,217 vehicles. 

To this end, the Directorate and the majority of the Works Council, among others, have agreed to change the work schedulessothat the weeks 20 and 21 of 2026  become working days, following the work scheme currently established.

Another point on which agreement has been reached is that staff flexibility will be compensated for by two individual days, which may be enjoyed in the following months.

Respite contract

In addition, they have agreedto reactivate this year's manufacturing relay contract . According to the statement released by the Landaben factory, the relay contract has been a "key tool" in recent years to ensure the entry and exit of workers, so that some workers can come out in the best conditions and, at the same time, bet on young talent.

Finally, in order to be able to make the new car models planned for this year, the necessary employment contracts can be concluded. In this regard, Volkswagen Navarra has indicated that it will "further strengthen recruitment practices, ensuring maximum transparency at all times".

The company has stressed that it has been committed to the creation of "quality fixed employment" in the Foral Community for years. Over the past five years, it has created 1,240 indefinite contracts, of which 784 have been made possible by the application of the manufacturing respite contract.
