In coordination with local taxi drivers and the Special Regime Area activated, the Donostialdea service will be guaranteed.
Radio Taxi Donosti and the Gipuzkoa Cider Association have strengthened their collaboration to ensure mobility during the txotx season, to provide safe public transport to those who come to the cider shops. Both organizations have highlighted the full effectiveness of the Donostialdea Special Regime Area (ZEPA) and the consolidation of the figure of the collaborating partner as a key to improving the service at a time of massive influx.
The coordination model focuses on localities with a large number of sidreries such as Astigarraga, Hernani, Urnieta, Usurbil and Oiartzun, a system that allows local taxi drivers to work in coordination with the central Radio Taxi Donosti, which allows them to respond more effectively to the increase in demand during the cider season.
The incorporation of taxi drivers from Astigarraga — integrated since July 2025 — and Hernani — since December of the same year — into this unified network allows 24-hour calls to be attended and professionals to be given priority in each municipality; from San Sebastián only reinforcements will be used when demand exceeds local capacity. Since the start of the service, more than 2,000 trips have been made in Astigarraga and more than 200 in Hernani.
