The Basque consortium closes the purchase of Ayesa Digital
Indar, a consortium consisting of the BBK, the Basque Government, the Vital Foundation and Teknei, has acquired the old Ibermatica, which will return to the Basque Country.
The Basque investor consortium closed the purchase of Ayesa Digital on Tuesday for480 million euros, and Iñigo Ucín joined the company as non-executive chairman and Manuel Baraza as CEO.
Indar Portfolio, the consortium comprising BBK, Vital and Teknei, has closed the purchase of the engineering division Ayesa Digital, Aiesa, with the approval of the authorities.
The purchase agreement was reached three months ago, in extremis, on the last day of 2025.
Iñigo Ucín (former president of the Mondragon Corporation) has joined as non-executive chairman of Ayesa Digital, while the new CEO will be Manu Baraza, with more than 25 years of experience in the field of technology and has held various management positions, both in the former Ibermatics and in Ayesa.
Both appointments will be ratified atthe first Ayesa Digital Board of Directors in mid-April.
The purchase marks the beginning of "a new phase of growth for Ayesa Digital, one of Europe's leading digital services providers," and a "determined commitment to a high-growth strategic sector, the most advanced digital solution, key to the transformation, development and competitiveness of the business fabric," the consortium said in a statement.
