Mercedes Benz of Gastezi is suspending production this afternoon due to lack of supplies

The Mercedes Benz factory in Vitoria-Gasteiz will have to stop production in the afternoon shift this Friday due to supply problems.

With 5,000 workers, the management of the largest plant in the Basque Country has informed trade unions and workers that the "exceptional" blockade of the port of Tangier has caused maritime traffic to be paralysed in the Strait of Gibraltar and has led to the collapse of the supply chain, which particularly affects the plant's cable supplier.

Therefore, the management of the plant has decided to suspend the production shift this Friday afternoon in all three sectors of the plant.
