The CPI rose 0.8% in the ACV and 0.4% in Navarre in June
The year-on-year rate of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stands at 3.2% in the ACV (third consecutive month) and 2.7% in the Foral Community, according to data published this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics.
The year-on-year CPI of the ACV rose by 0.8% in June and 0.4% in the Foral Community of Navarre, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Thus, the Basque index stood at 3.2% in June, for the third consecutive month — at the level of the Spanish average — while Navarra accumulated a 2.7% increase in the last year.
By territory, Bizkaia has a year-on-year CPI of 3.5 per cent, Álava 3.2 per cent and Gipuzkoa 2.8 per cent.
As a result of these figures, the Basque Country, together with Catalonia and the Valencian Community, ranks sixth in the rankingof autonomous communities, which is headed by Madrid, with an index of 3.8%.
Which sectors have become the most expensive in the CSC?
By sector, the Transport CPI has risen by 5.0%, 1.8 points less than in May, as private vehicle fuels and lubricants have been cheaper, rising in the same month last year.
The housing rate has risen by 3.7%, 3.1 points higher than the year-on-year rate in May, due to higher electricity and, to a lesser extent, gas prices. Restaurants and hospitality have increased by 5.3%, food and non-alcoholic beverages have increased by 3.5% (a tenth more than in May) and financial services and insurance have increased by 3.0%.
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 2.6 per cent, personal and other care by 2.4 per cent, educational services by 2.1 per cent, health by 2.1 per cent, leisure, sports and culture by 1.8 per cent and furniture and household goods by 1 per cent.
On the other hand, the rates have fallen in both Clothing and Footwear (-3.2 per cent) and Information and Communication (-0.6 per cent).
And in Navarre?
In Navarre, the housing sector recorded the most significant price increase, with 3.3 per cent, followed by leisure, sports and culture activities (+2.3 per cent) and financial services and insurance (1.3 per cent).
On the other hand, the biggest drop this month is in Transportation (-1.5%) and Clothing and Footwear (-0.6%), while prices in Education Services and Restaurants and Hospitality remain similar.

As far as the Spanish state is concerned, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) confirmed on Wednesday thatthe consumer price index (CPI) for the month of June maintains 3.2% year-on-year, despite the increase in gas and electricity VAT to 21%.
